My name is Kari Wallgren Morehouse. 2 years ago I was a single mom with 3 busy boys and I was burnt out. I had been working at the hospital for the last 10 years and was looking for something new. Something I would enjoy that would allow me the flexibility to spend more time with my family. That’s when my youngest son’s daycare center went for sale. I knew the owner, I knew the business( a little) and I knew what parents were looking for in a daycare. I decided to buy the center and make a lot of changes. I took what I liked and didn’t like from all the centers I had been to with my boys, and make it a center kids would enjoy and be parent friendly too.
Many people have a hard time deciding between a center and a home daycare. I often hear about there being “so many germs in a center” or “my kid is one of 15, can he get out the door and not be noticed”. I’ve had both and I’ve even had a nanny and I still believe the center is the way to go. It’s true, in a center you have a lot of germs. Initially you’re child will probably have a lot of colds, pinkeye, etc….but it also builds their immune system. But what I think is the best thing about centers is - in a center you have at least 3 sets of eyes watching your child at all times. You have a schedule, daily sheets to tell you what your child did during the day and you don’t have to worry about your nanny or home daycare getting sick or taking days off. We’re open M-F 7am - 6pm. My staff and I work really hard to make The Tot Spot a place to be proud of and we’re sure you and your child will like it too.
